The Art League of Nassau County has been fortunate to be able to review a sketch book used by one of our premier artists, Jacqueline Weyn. The 8 1/2″ X 11″ black covered book was begun in 1971 and covers family trips, workshops, studies of her children, roughs of prospective paintings and notes from art classes that Jackie attended. One of the teachers mentioned in the sketch book is the prominent watercolorist Edgar Whitney.
Page One of the book notes the sketch book to be a gift from Amy Corbett. Jackie added her name and address along with a group of head and shoulder sketches of a young girl. There follows over 100 pages of pencil sketches, class notes, and watercolor roughs. Visit the portfolio below for samples of her work.
