I graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 1974 with a BFA. I studied painting at the Art Student’s League with highly-acclaimed artists such as Chuck Close and Harvey Dinnerstein. I also attended the Woodstock Summer School in Woodstock, NY and studied under Jon deMartin.
I love art and realized there were no academic places for adult artist to paint or draw on the south shore of Long Island. I was always going to Queens or North Shore for art classes. There was no community center to learn and be creative in the area were I lived. I created the Chezar Art Studio to fill this void.
We are a group of about 20 students, mostly women, from the ages of 45 to 75. I call it “My Salon” and all the work involved in making it prosper and work for the students is a labor of love!
