I was born in New York City and worked there all my life.
I worked as a free lance illustrator for 35 years, in the advertising and publishing business. I painted book covers for Dell, Bantam, Scholastic Books, MacGraw Hill, Jove and others. I did illustrations for J.Walter Thompson. Doyle,Dane & Bernbach, Ogelvy & Mather and many other top New York ad agencies. I did a promotional poster for the Movie “European Vacation” and commemorial postage stamps for the US Post Office . Also did some Big Band album covers and a Sammy David Jr. album cover.
I grew up in the Bronx and graduated from The High Scholl of Art & Design. I spent four years in the US Navy and upon discharge went to work for various art studio’s In New York. At age twenty eight I began to freelancing full time while going to the School Of Visual Arts at night. At the age of 42 I enrolled at the Art Students League full time, studying under Robert Schultz for three years.
Finally retired at age 68 and started taking classes with Attila Hajji the noted illustrator/painter. Started getting into art shows around New York and won first prize in oil’s in the Washington Square Art show. Won the Frank C. Wright Memorial Award In the American Artist’s Professional League. I have been in many Salmagundi Club art shows.
