Emilio was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He attended the High School of Industrial Art. Soon after graduation he began a long career with Fawcett Publications, beginning with the comic book dividsion. This position concluded a year later due to the famous copyright dispute between Fawcett and DC Comics.
Emilio moved into advertising promotion at Fawcett, followed by art direction on True Magazine.
In 1955 Emilio was offered the position of Art Director for American Artist Magazine (Watson-Guptill). Additional responsibilities at Watson-Guptill included designing the firm’s art books.
After seven years at American Artis, Emilio moved to Reinhold Publishing, designing books for the group until 1980. He worked as a freelance book designer until retirement in 1990.
Emilo currently paints, and is a member of the Long Island Chapter of the Cartoonist Society.
