PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP WITH RON SANDERS
June 11-13 2010

The Art League of Nassau County presents a Plein Air Worksop on site in Bucks County Pennsylvania with Ron Sanders. The Art League is offering a partial subsidization of tuition for League members.

Please see information below for details. For questions, email Suzanne McVetty at smvetty@aol.com. See links below for specific information related to accomodations and the Bucks County Art Workshops sponsor. A hard copy of complete information is available for download. Information on Ron Sanders is available at his website, http://www.sanders-studios.com.

THE WORKSHOP

Plein air painting demands a direct statement of color produced by light. Learn
how to quickly mix clean, bright colors and beautiful neutrals through an
understanding of principle primaries and the four properties of color: hue,
temperature, value and chroma. Develop a sensitivity to temperature based color
common to outdoor painting and how to mix color using analogous vs.
complimentary colors. Through lecture, studio exercises, demonstration and field
painting students will learn to build better landscapes by “seeing, simplifying, and
subordinating.” In combination with compositional tools, students will plan
paintings for bolder form, increased spatial depth, and a stronger statement of
focal point that will take your paintings from ho-hum to wow!
